NTB is coming to the end our our Summer 2014 season. We have two more events coming up before we begin rehearsing for our holiday concerts in December.
On Sept. 27 we will be playing for the fine people of Winchester, NH in the their annual Pickle Festival parade. After the parade we will play a short concert right downtown. We have played this parade since the first year when it was a small relish competition and we relish the opportunity to continue our paricipation.
On October 18, we are heading to New London, NH for the annual Community Bands of NH festival. This is our third year of participation. The festival consists of 8 bands that play short concerts throughout the day. Our time this year is 10am. At the end of the day a guest conductor comes in to conduct select pieces performed by all the participants from all the bands. What a sound!
Lastly, and most importantly, many of our amazing Nelson Town Band members have been helping me and Vicki Moore launch a new program in Keene, NH. It is called the Monadnock New Horizons Band and it is a beginning band for adults. We started this week and 24 people have taken the plunge into the world of band music. The Nelson Town Band members were right there will technical help for the newest musicians and encouragement for all. This may be our best work!
