Today marks our third year of participation at the Festival Of NH Community Bands. Eight bands participated, playing for 1/2 hour each and then massing together to play Stars and Stripes, Salvation is Created and the 1812 Overture. It's a glorious display of passion for music. We played a 25 minute concert of some of our favorite tunes including Salute to the Sultan, Escapada, Seventy Six Trombones, Precious Lord, Blue Ridge Reel, Yankee Fanfare and El Capitan. I believe it was our best performance to date. The band was so tight and passionate that I felt we truly performed the music.

The New London Festival brings out our friendly competitive spirit which pushes us to a greater level of musical artistry. As the director, it was a thrill to stand up front of these wonderful, hard working musicians. Each year we come away from this festival feeling a great sense of camaraderie with the other musicians and a feeling of satisfaction having brought the level of performance of these pieces to a higher level.

In a few weeks we will start rehearsing for our holiday concerts. Making music with friends!
